College listed in top 10 for second year in a row
Denver, Colo. (February 18, 2008) - The Online Education Database (OEDb) recently released its 2008 Online College Rankings, listing Westwood College in ninth place and in its top 10 for the second year in a row. The Online Education Database (OEDb) contains reviews of 1,038 programs from 41 accredited online colleges.
"This recognition reinforces that Westwood Online is one of the leading degree-granting online colleges," said Scott Cousino, president Westwood College Online. "I'm proud of our team for its dedication to providing a quality education and experience for students."
Each school's ranking is based on data derived from up to eight different metrics, including: acceptance rate, financial aid, graduation rate, peer Web citations, retention rate, scholarly citations, student-faculty ratio and years accredited.
OEDb's profile on Westwood highlighted the college's support provided throughout a student's educational career, the "real-world" experience of instructors and their training as educators. The report also pointed out Westwood's use of virtual classrooms, free tutoring and computer support, graduate retraining program and focus on career development.
"OEDb's second annual Online College Rankings saves students valuable time by ranking the top online colleges in an objective, un-biased manner," said Ashley Merusi, OEDb spokesperson. "Those online colleges ranked in the top ten should be especially commended for their commitment to providing a quality education and experience for students."
