International Student Admission Requirements
Applying for admission to a college in the United States is a difficult, yet potentially rewarding, process. Westwood College's International Admissions Representatives are here to help you with every step of this process.
Below you will find 5 Phases to help guide you through the admissions requirements for Westwood College.

PHASE 1 | PHASE 2 | PHASE 3 | PHASE 4 | PHASE 5
PHASE 1:
- An International Admissions Representative or agent will contact you. You must provide the following information:
- Degree program in which you are interested
- Campus location you wish to attend
- Date you plan to begin your studies at Westwood
- Name and address of the high school (secondary education) you attended
- Whether you will need housing assistance
- How you plan to finance your education with Westwood
- Degree program in which you are interested
- Your representative will then provide you with program information, including description, length, and cost.
- You will be emailed or faxed an enrollment document as well as documents needed to issue your I-20. You will need to read, sign, and fax back to us at 303.785.7047.
- To apply on your own go to Westwood College and answer all applicable questions.
- The application and registration fee will be $100 USD.
- If you are unable to pay by credit card you will need to send the payment to the address below in the form of a cashier's check or money order.

Denver, CO 80221 - Your International Admissions Representative will schedule an admissions interview with you.
If your admissions representative decides to recommend you for admission, you will have a second interview with the Director of International Admissions and he or she will make the final admissions decision.
PHASE 2:
You will write a letter of intent, based on guidelines we will email to you. In addition, you will write a one-page essay that explains how you plan to incorporate what you learn at Westwood College back home after you graduate. This is a crucial document in order to receive your F-1 student visa.PHASE 3:
Once you have been admitted to the college, your admissions representative will send you an admissions and enrollment package with the following documents:- Congratulations Letter
- Admission Application (partially completed)
- Non-Citizen Waiver
- Westwood College SEVIS Reporting Requirements
- Westwood Campus SEVIS Update Log
- I-20 Student Acknowledgements
- Westwood College Enrollment Agreement
- International Student Housing Form, if applicable
- Student Right to Know documents
- Campus Catalog and Addendum (if applicable)
- High School Equivalency Application
- Letter of Intent Guidelines
- ACCUPLACER Study Guide
- Deadline Sheet (dates by which you, the student, must return paperwork and complete other stages of the admissions process)
You will be responsible for the following:
- All of these forms filled out according to the instructions.
- A signed and notarized Letter of Sponsorship from your sponsor stating 1) his or her relationship to the you, the student, and 2) that sufficient funds have been set aside solely for the purpose of the your education. You must also provide us with the name, address, and phone number of your sponsor so that we may verify the information provided.
- Bank statement showing $30,000.00 USD in your own or your sponsor's account (thirty thousand US dollars) to cover the first year's tuition, fees, and living expenses. This bank statement will be required at your consulate interview as well.
- A certified document stating that the you have successfully completed High School (secondary education)/ a certified copy of your diploma.
- A first term's tuition deposit in the amount of $500 USD for applicants outside of the United States must be received thirty days prior to start date.
- Letter of Intent written by you using the guidelines sent in your package.
- Copy of your one page essay which states how you plan to incorporate what you learn at Westwood in your home country after graduation — you must keep the original of this document to present during your consulate interview.
- Copy of Information Page of your Passport — this is to ensure that we enter the correct data on the your I-20 and will not be used for any other purpose.
- You should make a copy of all paperwork included in your package before sending it back.
PHASE 4:
You will be responsible for a TOEFL test score of 475 or higher on the paper-based test or 153 or higher on the computer-based test. If English is your first language or if you have been taught in English you do not have to take the TOEFL test.*
We will email you instructions for taking the ACCUPLACER test. Successful completion of this test is required for enrollment at Westwood College.
* Students from the following countries may not have to take the TOEFL test: Antigua, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Botswana, Canada, Ethiopia, Falkland Islands, Gambia, Ghana, Great Britain, Grenada, Guyana, Iberia, India, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Micronesia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Solomon Islands, The Philippines, Trinidad, Uganda, United States, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
PHASE 5:
- The Westwood campus of your choice will issue your US Government Form I-20.*
- We will provide you with a Westwood College Acceptance letter.
- You will set up an appointment with your local US embassy/consulate office for the interview required to receive your F-1 Student Visa.
- We will help you prepare for this interview.
- You will receive your F-1 Student Visa and buy your ticket to the United States.
