Westwood High School Scholarship Program

The High School Scholarship Program is intended to recognize motivated high school seniors and to encourage their pursuit of advanced career education in the field of their choice. The scholarship award will contribute directly to the tuition for the degree program selected by the recipient.

The award of $1500 is limited to two seniors per high school and is available to high school senior applicants enrolled at any Westwood ground-school campus (please note that Online and Employee Waiver students are not eligible to apply or receive this scholarship). The award will be paid out in three disbursements during the first academic year and will be earned at the completion of 60% of each term of study.

To qualify for the Westwood High School Scholarship, an applicant:

  • Must be a 2008 high school senior or 2008 GED recipient
  • Must be enrolled in a Westwood ground school degree program (Online and Employee Waiver students are not eligible)
  • Must submit a personal essay of 250 words or more explaining your reason for pursuing career training at Westwood College
  • Must have a cumulative High School grade point average of 3.0 or be recommended by a high school educator, counselor, administrator, community leader or employer

Scholarship Application Procedures (Please Read Carefully)

(All documents must be sent together in one envelope with completed application to address on application)

Prospective students must adhere to the following to qualify for the Westwood High School Scholarship:

  • Successful fulfillment of all requirements for acceptance to Westwood College (personal interview, educational equivalency, educational proficiency etc.)
  • Meet all requirements of the scholarship program
  • Submit completed Scholarship Application (must be complete and legible)
  • Personal essay must be typewritten or handwritten in ink by the applicant of 250 words or more (do not submit photos, videos, or other artifacts as they will not be returned)
  • Submit most current transcript and must reflect cumulative High School grade point average of 3.0, or be recommended by a high school educator, counselor, administrator, community leader or employer. Letter must be signed by individual making the recommendation on school or organization letterhead.
  • All materials must be submitted together in one envelope to Scholarship Administration in Denver, Colorado and be received by May 19, 2008. Please make copies for your records.

You will receive a call or an e-mail from Westwood College when your application is received. Application packets will be accepted later than the deadline only if postmarked at least five business days prior to the deadline.
